Dr. Strangely Strange are an experimental Irish folk group, formed in Dublin in 1967, and after signing with the Incredible String Band's producer and manager Joe Boyd, the band debuted in 1969 with Kip of the Serenes. While on tour with Bridget St. John, they enlisted drummer Neil Hopwood. After 1970's Heavy Petting, Dr. Strangely Strange began falling apart: Tim Goulding left to study at a Buddhist monastery, while Ivan Pawle and Tim Booth teamed with Gay and Terry Woods for a brief tour. The group soon disbanded, but they reunited in 1972 for an Irish tour, and briefly reconvened again in the early '80s, eventually releasing their difficult third album Alternative Medicine in 1997.
Think Like A Key Music is excited to work with the band on restoring their "lost" BBC In Concert and Top Gear recordings as well as other rarities for the exclusive Radio Sessions set, out October 2022.
